Your Parks, Your Stories: Cleveland Metroparks Memories Project - Garfield Park Reservation

When & Where

June 7 at 11 am - 4 pm

Program Leader: Foster Brown

In just a few years, Cleveland Metroparks will be celebrating their Centennial (2017) and we are inviting you to participate with us! In 2014 and 2015, Cleveland Metroparks is sending out an Oral History team to collect your personal and family stories of how Cleveland Metroparks has impacted your life through the decades or in recent days. We will audio record your fond memories and then preserve them in our archives for posterity and as a source of stories for our celebration.

Along with your stories, we are seeking photos that document your activities in the park, i.e., picnicking, horseback riding, golfing, attending camp, birding, hiking, attending nature center activities, swimming, canoeing or biking. Yes, we are seeking photos from the early years, but photos from the last 50 years are important too. Do you have old maps, posters or memorabilia of Cleveland Metroparks past? We would love to see them.

If you are interested, call Historical Interpreter Foster Brown at 440-786-8530
or by email:

We will also accept walk-ups if time slots are available.
