September 9th – Mammals and Me What do you have in common with a bear, camel, and a
wolf? Come learn what makes an animal a
mammal and meet some of the Zoo’s smaller mammals.
September 16th – ‘Mazing Marsupials
There are many interesting and unique animals that live in
Australia. Most of those animals happen
to be marsupials. Come learn about their ‘mazing adaptations and meet some of
the most well known marsupials here at the Zoo.
September 23rd – Bears Bears Bears
Grab your favorite stuffed bear and
bring it along to see some real bears in action! We will learn all about the different kinds of
bears you will meet here at the Zoo.
September 30th – African Animals
You've heard of the king of the jungle,
but what African animal truly wears a crown on its head? Find out as we explore
the African savanna and the beautiful animals that make it unique.
October 7th – Australian Adventure
G'Day mates! Did you know a Koala is
actually not a bear? Bring your young jackaroos and jillaroos to the Zoo to
discover what it's like to be a kid in Australia while exploring the Australian
October 14th – What’s for Dinner? Chomp! Crunch! Slurp!
Animals eat all kinds of different foods. Do you like to eat any of the same
things? Discover your dietary
similarities (and differences) on this epicurean adventure!
October 21st – Predators
animals have to hunt for their food.
From the grasslands of the savanna to the deep blue sea, predators come
in many different shapes and sizes. Join
us for a fun and education experience learning about these fascinating

RainForest Jungle Lab)
Did you know some animals stay awake
while we are sleeping at night? Some of the most interesting animals live in
the dark. Discover what they are, while learning lots of fun facts about these
November 4th – Ready for Reptiles (Meet in The
RainForest Jungle Lab)
Snakes, and lizards, and turtles oh my! Come
learn all about the different types of reptiles and what makes them each
special and unique as you get to meet a few up close and personal.
November 11th – Fascinating Fish
Water covers more than 70% of the
earth’s surface and it’s filled with fascinating species of fish, corals,
sharks and more. Dive in and explore
some of the interesting sea dwellers that live here at the Zoo.
November 18th – Amazing
Ribbit, ribbit! From their unique lifecycle to their
interesting habitats and behaviors, amphibians really are amazing. Come learn all about our friends with the
sticky tongues, as you join us on this amazing amphibian adventure.
December 2nd – Animal Care
Do you know a little zoo enthusiast that loves to take care of
animals? Come learn what it takes to care for zoo animals at the Sarah
Allison Steffee Center for Zoological Medicine. Here, our budding veterinarians
can learn about animal care through hands-on activities and tools-of-the-trade
while having some fun caring for their favorite animal. Visitors might
even get to sneak a peek at a treatment procedure in progress.
December 9th – Rainforest Life
Rainforests are some of the most diverse places
in the world, and are home to many unique animals. They can be furry, feathery,
scaly, and even slimy. Come on a scavenger hunt through The RainForest exhibit
and discover many different types of amazing animals!
December 16th – Cold Weather Animals
do you stay warm in the winter? Animals have many things to keep them warm
outside in the cold and snow. Some animals, including reindeer, grizzly bears
and wolves, endure the most extreme winter weather. Explore Northern Trek and
discover the special things that make these animals perfect for living in cold
