The ring-tailed lemur is the most common of the lemur family.
Red ruffed lemur mating season begins in May and the young are usually born in September and October.
Ring-tailed lemurs have black rings around their otherwise gray tail.
Red ruffed lemurs walk or run on large branches and leap from tree to tree.
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has several species of lemur in one of the largest primate collections in the U.S. Species include ring-tailed, blue-eyed black, red ruffed, mongoose, crowned and collared lemurs and several of them are breeding pairs.
