Research: Parkview Elementary/Parma High School Native Wildflower Restoration Project
The goals of this project are:
- The restoration of a native wildflower area that had been neglected and overgrown with non-native, invasive plants.
- The restoration and ongoing maintenance of this site will act as a teaching lab for Parma High School environmental science students.
- The project, aided through the use of interpretive signage, will act as a demonstration project for the school district, its students, the City of Parma, and the general public.
- The project will inform he community about the importance of the use of native vs. non-native invasive plants, the benefits of creating natural wildlife habitats, and how the project functions as a land use/stormwater best management practice
