RANGE OF THE GRAY WOLF BEFORE 1850

Jeremiah says:

"Wolves roamed the entire North American continent. They adapted to life in the coldest tundra to the hottest deserts. Why, wolves would live anywhere they could find a good meal!"

"The wolf was important to Native Americans. Pawnee Indians used the same sign language to identify their tribe and the wolf. Cherokee Indians believed singing and imitating a wolf walking would protect their feet from frostbite. Indians admired wolves for their intelligence, social structure and hunting skills. However, things were about to change."
