Ohio Academic Content Standards: 3-5

Science:
• Discuss observations and measurements made by other people.
• Describe how technology can extend human abilities (e.g., to move things and to extend senses).
• Describe different kinds of investigations that scientists use depending on the questions they are trying to answer.
• Describe ways that using technology can have helpful and/or harmful results.
Investigate ways that the results of technology may affect the individual, family and community.
• Discuss how both men and women find science rewarding as a career and in their everyday lives.

Social Studies
•Describe how people help to make the community a better place in which to live

Language Arts
• Apply structural analysis skills to build and extend vocabulary and to determine word meaning. Know the meaning of specialized vocabulary by applying knowledge of word parts, relationships and meanings.
• Use resources to determine the meanings and pronunciations of unknown words.

Technology
• Demonstrate the use of technology in daily life, noting the advantages and disadvantages those uses provide.
• Demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom.
