| Abstract: This project will study the ecology and reproduction of the Matamata turtle in Cojedes state, Venezuela. Information on animal abundance, size class and sex distribution, and habitat selection and preferences will be collected. Reproductive information will be gathered on nest chronology, preferences, competition and nest and egg characteristics. A management plan will be created for this species in this region of the San Jeronimo stream which will include an environmental workshop for local communities. |
