| Lowland Tapirs as Landscape Detectives for the Atlantic Forest: A New Conservation Approach |

| Abstract: This project will provide information that will facilitate the implementation of two management plans critical to the long-term conservation of tapirs and also of the Atlantic Forest. Specifically, this project will describe the home range size and territorial behavior of tapirs in the park, estimate the size of tapir populations, map the principal dispersal routes throughout the landscape, and assess and monitor the genetic and health conditions of the different populations. |
