| Abstract: Genetic variability is an important factor for the survival of individuals, as it allows individuals to adapt to environmental changes. It is believed that individuals in the wild have a high genetic variability, with some exceptions such as endangered populations. Throughout its range of distribution it is considered that the populations of white-nosed coati have declined or even disappeared. It is important to know the genetic diversity present in the free-living populations of any species to raise management and conservation plans. With this project we will know the genetic variability that remains in the Mexican populations of white-nosed coati and also their genetic structure.
