| Abstract: This project will census the critically endangered Ricord's iguanas and the sympatric Rhinoceros iguanas in previously uncensored areas of Isla Cabritos, Dominican Republic. Censusing will provide knowledge to increase our understanding of wild population health and status and improve captive breeding environments. Data on Ricord's iguanas' nesting sites will assist in the development of a "Head Start" program for the species. Data obtained observing cats and burros will contribute to the development of introduced species eradication programs. |
