Rapid Assessment on Presence-Absence/Absolute-Relative Density of Rodents, Insectivores, Scandents and Lagomorphs of South Asia
Location: South Asia
Species: rodents, insectivores, scandents and lagomorphs
Abstract: The goal of this project is to increase the amount and quality of information known about the status and distribution of rodents, insectivores, scandents and lagomorphs in order to enhance the output of the Conservation Assessment and Management Plan (CAMP) workshop. The long-range goal is to involve rodent network members in a collaborative survey of areas not normally surveyed. The data collected will also be useful in making recommendations for future surveys, monitoring and other conservation actions. This project is unique in that it is the first grassroots cooperative survey project to be conducted in India and South Asia by volunteer biologists motivated to assist biodiversity conservation.
