Zoo Science & Management Course
This seminar course is offered at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo with credit through Kent State University.

Zoo Biology Major at Malone College
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has formed a professional partnership with Malone College to offer a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoo Biology. This is one of the few Zoo Biology programs offered in the United States.

Intern/Student Research Program

A problem faced by many students wanting to pursue professions or advanced degrees in the sciences is gaining experience in the field. The zoo is an excellent location for students to gain experience and learn about conducting research, caring for exotic animals and the applied aspect of conservation work. Thus, by working with students, several of the Zoo's mission objectives are fulfilled. The current program enables undergraduate students to conduct observational behavioral research on animals in the collection for course credit. Most undergraduates participate in one of the ongoing studies, with guidance from the research staff. Some undergraduates and all graduate level students develop their own projects which are reviewed by the senior animal care staff.

Non-paid research internships are available only to students who have completed the Zoo Biology and Management Course. Questions can be directed via e-mail to research@clevelandmetroparks.com
