Discovery Day at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo will increase kindergarten and preschool student's awareness of the natural world through storytelling, craft making, game playing, and small animal interactions. Lessons and activities conducted during this program are aligned to the state-mandated Early Learning Content Standards.
This program is for kindergarten or preschool classes and their teacher and chaperones only. Parents may sign younger siblings up for our Adventure Series program.
The program is offered on Fridays from October through May. Class meets in the RainForest at 9:30 a.m. The Zoo Bus is available to any school in Cuyahoga County and Hinckley Township. You will be able to register for the Zoo Bus at the same time you register for Discovery Day.
We offer a limited amount of programs for free. In order to qualify as a scholarship group, you must be part of a Head Start program or 30% of the students at your school must be eligible to receive a free lunch. Scholarships are available only to schools in Cuyahoga County or Hinckley Township. Only one scholarship is available per school.
