Exciting Opportunities for Everyone...
Teachers Families Volunteers
Students Groups

Outreach for the 2009-2010 School Year is sold out.
Registration for March-June 2010 will begin on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 8:30 a.m.

The Wonders of the Mammal World
Discover the different types of mammals found around the world and learn more about what you and other mammals have in common.

Animal Classification
In the animal kingdom, body coloration patterns ensure survival of the fittest. Learn what a leopard's spots, zebra's stripes or the lion's solid color mean to their individual existence.

Predators: They're Part of the Picture
Take a look at the animals who survive by catching and eating other animals. Predatory behavior is a subject that fascinates everyone. Learn about ecological concepts such as food webs and adaptations.

Lets Be Veterinarians
Your students can be veterinarians for a day! (or at least for an hour!) Using actual vet bags stocked full of veterinary tools of the trade, students will have fun exploring this career and learning about some of the challenges that go along with the job.

Facts & Tracks (available on Thursdays only)
Mountain man Jeremiah Colter will take students trackers through his fascinating figure eight of Ohio animal tracks, where tracker teams will discover what animals used to call Ohio home, what animals still do, and what animals have returned to our State and why. Jeremiah will provide clues and beginning trackers (students) will have a barrelful of fun coming up with the answers to Facts & Tracks.

Animal Espionage: The Case of the Stolen Designs of Nature (available on Thursdays only)
What plants and animals have provided blueprints for the designing of velcro, faster swimsuits, helicopter blades, the zipper and many, many more? Detective Noah Hyde will take your rookie detectives through the Case of the Stolen Designs of Nature. What Noah calls "animal espionage". Students will work the case and discover who-done-it and why.

The Bear Differences (available on Thursdays only)
Eight species of bear survive on the planet Earth, and mountain man Jeremiah Colter would like both teachers and students to get to know them. Discover why bears are mammals. Why is a grizzly bear called grizzly? Who is nicknamed the "walking bear"? Why is one bear species missing its two front teeth? Find out if black bears are always black and much, much more as Jeremiah shares with your students The Bear Differences.
