Rising Waters Safari Camp is an African-themed overnight Zoo adventure. Campers at Rising Waters stay in the Zoo's African Savanna, for an authentic safari experience. The program combines elements of African culture, such as the making of tribal masks and a story circle, with conservation-oriented activities and a visit with some of the Zoo's smaller African animals. Night hikes, snacks, and fun (and free Zoo admission following the program!) make Rising Waters a memorable experience for kids of all ages.

For individual and family programs, your non-refundable payment is due in full at time of registration. For group programs, a non-refundable deposit is due upon registration with the balance due 30 days before the program date. The cost for Rising Waters Safari Camp includes:

  • Program curriculum and equipment
  • Counselor(s) that will stay with your group through the entire program
  • Shared sleep space in the Rising Waters Safari Camp
  • A light snack in the evening
  • S'mores around the campfire
  • Night security
  • A light breakfast in the morning
  • A souvenir water bottle for completing the program
  • Admission to the Zoo and The RainForest following the program

Rising Waters Registration Information

Family Nights

  • Cost is $38/camper (Zoo members $36/camper)
  • Payment must be made at time of registration
  • Parents or chaperones must accompany children under the age of 18

Group Nights

  • Cost is $38/camper
  • Maximum group size is 48 campers
  • No minimum requirements for number of campers in your group
  • Must have a total of 15 participants for the night to run
  • Deposit is paid at time of registration
  • Each tent in Rising Waters Safari Camp holds 8 people, please keep this in mind when booking this program.
  • We reserve the right to combine groups when necessary
  • Parents or chaperones must accompany children under the age of 18
