African Elephant Crossing moves Cleveland Metroparks Zoo a major step toward becoming a national leader in elephant conservation education and a provider of innovative science programming for all ages. The exhibit's purpose is to ignite a passion for elephants and other African wildlife and wild places through encouraging understanding of the elephant habitat, cultural surroundings, their plight in the wild, and the need for conservation action that will contribute to the conservation of elephants in the wild.
Participation in a Connections to Africa Teacher Workshop is highly recommended for teachers interested in using these kits.
