The Zoo celebrates America Recycles Day (ARD) with special activities to raise awareness of "REDUCE, REUSE, and RECYCLE".
Recycling information and exhibits will be available from recycling businesses, recycled products manufacturers, artists who reuse/recycle materials, organizations who embrace recycling programs, and educational activities.
Bring your recyclables to the Zoo and receive one free admission with the purchase of one regular admission. *Some restrictions may apply. Admission coupon will be available at the recycling collections area.
Visit the Recycling Center in the Exhibit Hall & enter a drawing to win a gift basket from the Cleveland Zoological Society. Prizes may include a family membership or an Adopt an Orangutan, as well as environmentally friendly products.
Recycling Collections:
The Zoo will be accepting the following items for recycling on November 9:
- ALUMINUM CANS
- CELL PHONES AND ACCESSORIES
- NEWSPAPERS, MAGAZINES, CATALOGS, JUNK MAIL
- INK JET AND TONER PRINT CARTRIDGES
- HOUSEHOLD PLASTICS with a recycle symbol and number 1 – 7

Are you looking for an opportunity to get your message in front of thousands of children & adults? Then please consider requesting exhibitor space at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's annual America Recycles Day event on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Zoo's Palava Hut Picnic Pavilion, Welcome Plaza, Exhibit Hall & Zoo Auditorium will have space for informational & promotional exhibits (recycling businesses, recycled content products manufacturers, artists using recycled materials, organizations highlighting their recycling accomplishments, etc.) as well as educational activities - school environmental clubs or projects, crafts, etc. - and we invite you to join us.
