Cuyahoga County Public Library is a proud sponsor of Things I'd Do If I Ran the Zoo.
Inspired by Dr. Seuss’ classic book If I Ran the Zoo, this new Zoo event will show families what it takes to run a zoo. Kids will make their own “Things I’d Do If I Ran the Zoo” book as they travel from station to station collecting pages and learning about different jobs at the Zoo.
Each station will feature a different activity to teach kids about jobs at the Zoo, such as animal keeper, veterinarian, horticulturist and maintenance worker.
Free with regular Zoo admission.
Bring your aluminum cans to the Zoo for a special Cans for Conservation can drive to benefit Bat Conservation International.
Things I'd Do if I Ran the Zoo
A day of activities for children to do
Happens April 29th in our very own Zoo.
Mark your calendars in pencil, crayon or pen,
And tell those you know that you plan to attend.
Bring the little ones to learn about jobs that are done
To keep a zoo running in snow, rain or sun.
It takes builders, keepers, pruners and such;
When it comes to zoo work, it's true there is much.
Teach young minds to dream and reach for a star.
Give wind to their sails, no matter how far.
Show them monkeys, tigers and elephants, too.
And learn what they'd do - if they ran the Zoo.
