Television icon Betty White visited the Zoo on June 15, 2011, before her red carpet appearance at a local premiere party "Hot in Cleveland." She called the Zoo a "gem" which is fitting since we're part of the Emerald Necklace.
2011 Trumpeter Swan Cygnets See them at Waterfowl Lake
Six trumpeter swan cygnets were hatched at the Zoo June 5-6, 2011. The father of the cygnets was part of an Ohio species reintroduction program in 1996. All six of the cygnets will eventually be released in the wild.

Red Ruffed Lemur Babies On exhibit in the Primate, Cat & Aquatics Building
The Zoo welcomed two baby red ruffed lemurs, a male and a female, on June 7, 2010. The births continue the Zoo's long history of success with the species. Red ruffed lemurs are native to Madagascar and critically endangered in the wild.
