Lion Conservation: Tracking lions and addressing conflicts

Quarters for Conservation

Location: Ruaha National Park, Tanzania

Funding for this project with the Ruaha Carnivore Project will support:

  • Satellite collars and equipment to help track lion movements in and around Ruaha National Park and better understand how they utilize the land and where conflicts with humans may be more likely to occur
  • Human-carnivore conflict mitigation efforts, including those that work to reduce livestock attacks and also provide tangible benefits for participating villagers such as health care and education
