Description

Australian Adventure is reminiscent of an Australian country town during the booming Victoria era. All elements within this attraction reflect the tone and style. Situated on eight acres, including three areas: Koala Junction, Wallaby Walkabout and Kookaburra Station.

• Koala Junction serves as the entrance to a total Australian experience. The Koala Gum Leaf Hideout featuring koalas and tree kangaroos. Koala Junction boasts the newly expanded railroad, the Boomerang Railway, which encompasses the entire exhibit. Lorikeet Lane, adjacent to Koala Junction, is home to dozens of brightly colored birds, which can feed on nectar from your hand.
• Wallaby Walkabout is a winding walkway where a mob of kangaroos, wallabies and wallaroos roam freely.
• Kookaburra Station is a wonderland that features the Yagga Tree, a three story tree-like structure featuring an observation deck. Guests can exit the tree through a swaying suspended bridge or down a spiral slide.

To reserve the event date Cleveland Metroparks Zoo requires a non-refundable rental fee in addition to the signed permit. The rental fee includes all services for use of the facility, except where noted.

Catering Service

• Treetops Catering by Aramark is the official caterer at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and The RainForest. Many unique menu options can be created for your special event. Please contact the Catering Manager at (216) 398-5750
• Equipment set-up for an event may not begin in the public areas of Australian Adventure before building closes to the public. Immediately following the event, the caterer is responsible for complete clean up and removal of all additional equipment and refuse from premises. Premise must be restored to original condition immediately following the conclusion of the event.

Additional Information

Decorations/Flowers/Linen
To better serve your needs the caterer will assist you with table linens and napkins, votive candles and/or other table decorations and hosted coat checking. It is necessary that the Group Sales Representative approve all decorations. For safety and fire code reasons, candles must be enclosed in either hurricane glass globes or votive glass containers.

Lighting/Electrical and Sound System
Ample power and electrical outlets are available for entertainment equipment. Sound system must be provided by the group.

Deliveries/Shipping Dock
All deliveries including equipment rentals must be pre-arranged with Group Sales Representative. Deliveries must be made on day of the event after 2 p.m. at the designated drop off area in Australian Adventure. Rental equipment must be removed immediately following the event.

Invitations and Printed Materials
Invitation copy must be sent/faxed to Group Sales Representative for review and approval before printing. Please allow sufficient time for approval.

General Information
Restrooms are located near concession stand, adjacent to the Reinberger Homestead, and opposite Gum Leaf Hideout.

Parking
Free parking is available in the Lion Lot (main lot) at the Zoo. Access to the lot is through the Zoo main entrance located off Wildlife Way.

Security
A Group Sales Representative will be on-site during the event. For all after-hour events and events serving alcoholic beverages a Cleveland Metroparks Ranger(s) must be hired for security. The Group Sales Representative determines the number of rangers. The rate is $30.00 per hour per ranger (four-hour minimum). Payment is made directly to the Ranger(s) on the day of the event. Please make all arrangements through the Group Sales Representative.

Smoking
All buildings at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo are non-smoking facilities.
