What's in a Name? Name means "Beside Crested Lizard" because it had a long, hollow and bony crest that was about six feet long

Description: A biped and quadruped dinosaur, the Parasaurolophus measured an average of 40 feet long, 8 feet tall and weighed an average of 2 tons. It had a crest used to make sounds and enhance the sense of smell and/or mating displays. Also had a toothless horny beak, numerous cheek teeth and traveled in herds.

Diet: Herbivore

Lived during: Cretaceous Period about 76-65 million years ago

Lived in: North America
