Thanks to everyone who participated in Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's koala joey naming poll sponsored by Outback Steakhouse. The Zoo's male koala joey's name is "Kookoora" which means "very sweet." Kookoora is the offspring of mother "Colliet" and father "Bulkee" and is currently on exhibit at GumLeaf Hideout in the Zoo's Australian Adventure.
The poll results - name choices and percentages of votes - are as follows:
- Oolie ("Gum Tree"): 22%
- Maroo ("Hand"): 4%
- Ponto ("Little Brother"): 23%
- Daku ("Sand"): 7%
- Kookoora ("Very Sweet"): 45%
