Traffic Alert for July 4 Holiday Weekend

With nice weather predicted and a long holiday weekend ahead, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is asking its visitors to allow extra travel time through July 4. The Fulton Road Bridge closure and big crowds could cause some traffic delays, particularly this weekend and Monday.

Nothing else creates such a down-home feeling as the smell of warm biscuits, fresh from the oven. That heart-warming fragrance might not evoke the same association for the children in veterinary epidemiologist Dr. Pam Dennis' house, since the biscuits most frequently pulled from the oven are high-fiber monkey biscuits, not buttermilk biscuits.

That's Life ... at the Zoo

Cleveland TV personality Robin Swoboda will be at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo today, taping segments for her daytime talk show, "That's Life" on Fox 8. Her fans will be able to catch her during today's 1:30 p.m. Dr. ZooLittle show at the Amphitheater, and she'll be doing a Meet-and-Greet at 2 p.m. at the Amphitheater. The Zoo episode of "That's Life" is scheduled to air at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 21.

Sea Lions Rise Up for the Cavs!

92 New Best Friends

Sunday marked Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's eighth annual "Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo" event and was it ever a great one. The day was warm and sunny with no rain in sight, 20 animal shelters took part and 92 best friends were made. Check out my photos of some new happy families and the awe-inspiring demonstration of police K-9 dogs by Buckeye Area Regional K-9 (B.A.R.K.).
