Echidnas Now on Exhibit... What ARE they?

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo announces the arrival of two new echidnas, one male and one female, now on exhibit. On Friday, February 29, 2008, they were released into the koala exhibit at Gum Leaf Hideout in the Zoo's Australian Adventure. Biodiversity Alliance Kicks Off Environmental Lecture Series

On Wednesday, February 6th, Biodiversity Alliance held the first lecture in its Environmental Lecture Series at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The first lecture featured Edgardo Griffith, program director of the El Valle Amphibian Conservation Center (EVACC) in Panama.

Gorilla Update on Today!

On Friday, February 15, 2008, the Today Show aired a special report on Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's Gorilla Health Project and the recent gorilla health procedure performed at the Sarah Allison Steffee Center for Zoological Medicine. (watch the video).

The Zoo's two gorillas, Bebac and Mokolo, are doing well after undergoing heart exams and general check-ups earlier this month (read the news release).
