Zoo's Animal Keeper Blogging for Polar Bears International

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Animal Keeper Tiffany Mayo is in Churchill, Manitoba, this week attending Polar Bears International's Leadership Camp. Big Creek Clean-Up: A Dirty Job Done Cheap!

Big Creek is an impressive, yet often overlooked river that courses through Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and Brookside Reservation. It disappears via giant culverts directly beneath the Zoo's African Savanna, day-lighting again behind The RainForest. At the Zoo, you can view the cavernous Big Creek river gorge from the bridge that connects Africa and Northern Trek.

Located in the upland commons area by the Primate, Cat & Aquatics Building, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's "calendar garden" offers a breathtaking visual of the current date.
