Baby T. rex Roaring Around Cleveland

In promotion of DINOSAURS! at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, the Zoo's "baby" T-rex will be out and about, making appearances in and around Cleveland. He will be accompanied by Zoo staff and some of the Zoo's small animals. Look for Baby T (as we like to call him) at the following dates and locations:
  • July 15, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the WDOK Listeners Lunch on Mall C
  • July 17, 6:30 - 9 p.m., with WNWV at Mapleside Farms, Brunswick
  • July 18, at WKDD Kidz Day
  • July 25, at Radio One Unity Day
  • July 28, 5 - 7 p.m., at Bob Evans in Streetsboro
  • August 13, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m., at the Cuyahoga County Fair in Berea with Radio Disney
  • August 19, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the WDOK Listeners Lunch on Mall C

A Night with the Monsters

The Zoo will be on the road this weekend, making an appearance on Saturday, January 31 at the Lake Erie Monsters hockey game. All of your favorite zoo animals will be on hand, including snakes, lizards, birds and even a few furry friends. Game time is 7:30 p.m. and the animals will be roaming the Quicken Loans Arena concourse beginning at 6:30 p.m. and lasting through the first period. Stripes, the Zoo's mascot, will also be there and everyone at the game will have a chance to win a Zoo prize pack that includes 4 tickets to the Zoo! Be sure to visit us at the "Q" and enjoy a night of hard-hitting hockey with the Lake Erie Monsters.

Get Close to Animals at Select Bob Evans Locations

Beachwood Bob Evans customers got a surprise two nights ago when Cleveland Metroparks Zoo animals greeted them on their way into the restaurant.

Zoo staff and small animals will be visiting two more Bob Evans locations in the next two weeks. On Tuesday, July 22, from 5 to 8 p.m., you can get close to a few of the Zoo's small animals at the Bob Evans in Brookpark, 13050 Brookpark Road. Then, on Tuesday, July 29 from 5 to 8 p.m., Zoo staff will bring their animals to meet and greet you at the Bob Evans in North Olmsted, on 25853 Lorain Road. Also on July 29, many Bob Evans restaurants in Northeast Ohio will be donating 10% of their proceeds to the Zoo's Vernal Pool Project (see list of locations and more  information about the Bob Evans fundraiser).

T. Rex on Tour

A juvenile animatronic T. Rex will be appearing live this summer to promote the Zoo's 2007 summer exhibit "DINOSAURS!" It is part of an outreach program that also includes giveaways and opportunities to meet Zoo staff members and get close to small animals.
