  • Computers = approximately 8 pallets
  • Aluminum (Cans For Conservation) = 210 pounds
    • $73.50 will be donated to the Mbeli Bai Gorilla project
  • Document shredding = 1.25 tons, resulting in the following:
    • 21.25 trees saved
    • 3.75 cubic yards of landfill space saved
    • air pollution reduced by 75 pounds
    • 25 gallons of water saved
  • Cell phones: 24
Thank you to all who participated. Let us know what you thought of the event!

You Dressed Up, We Took Pictures: Another Boo Gallery

Last night was another great Boo at the Zoo night at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. We've been noticing some great costumes -- on the kids... on the ADULTS... and EVEN on the DINOSAURS! Were you at Boo last night? Check out our latest gallery.

Boo! It's a Thursday Night Photo Gallery

Boo at the Zoo kicked off yesterday at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo to a crowd of just over 2000 people. Yep, we had some rain, but that didn't dampen the spirits of the little goblins that came out for the festivities. Were you caught on camera? Check out some of the costumes and the characters in our Boo photo gallery.

Pumpkins: the New Canvas?

Boo at the Zoo starts tomorrow! The Zoo has collected many Halloween decorations over the years, but none are quite like the ones we received yesterday. A group of art students from Westlake High School have created a special group of pumpkins that you'll see at Boo. Check 'em out.

Did the Plastic Boats Float at the Great Lake Erie Boat Float?

Get the scoop from Brecksville Broadview Heights High School sophomore Miranda Beran about what really happened at the Great Lake Erie Boat Float at Edgewater Beach on October 3. What was the event like? Were the "Zoo Crew Canoe" and the "S.S. Down Under" seaworthy? Read the report and see some event photos right here.

The 12 Days of Boo, Day 13: Skella Fella

If you thought T. rex was the biggest character making an appearance at this year's 20th anniversary of Boo at the Zoo, you thought wrong. Here's a glimpse at a couple other merry, not scary, fellas that will be taking part in the Boo celebration.

The 12 Days of Boo, Days 9-12: Larger than life

Okay, so we have a lot to catch you up on! Over the long holiday weekend, the Zoo staff was busy getting the Zoo ready for all the little ghouls and goblins to arrive at Boo at the Zoo. Although it's a merry, not scary event, you might be frightened to learn that both Saturdays of Boo at the Zoo are already sold out! You might want to grab your tickets before they disappear.

The 12 Days of Boo, Day 5: Signs of the Season

October is not only Boo at the Zoo time of year -- it's also when Zoo staff begin their wonderful seasonal decorating. We decorate with natural items such as pumpkins (lots of 'em) and cornstalks, and we also decorate with paint. On Day 5, check out today's arrivals and some things you'll see next week at Boo.

The 12 Days of Boo, Day 4: Costumed Characters

Along with all the Boo "stuff" we also have Boo "personalities." Wondering who you might encounter at Boo? In 2009, many of the Boo regulars will be back, but we have at least one new face -- this one you might even recognize from TV. Here's a look at some of the warm and fuzzy characters you'll meet at this year's event.
