The 12 Days of Boo, Day 5: Signs of the Season

October is not only Boo at the Zoo time of year -- it's also when Zoo staff begin their wonderful seasonal decorating. We decorate with natural items such as pumpkins (lots of 'em) and cornstalks, and we also decorate with paint. On Day 5, check out today's arrivals and some things you'll see next week at Boo.
Boo at the Zoo season is a colorful time of year, and things have gotten even more colorful today when the Zoo received shipments of pumpkins, cornstalks and mums. It's the way we make everything look a lot more like fall here at the Zoo. Seasonal decorations of cornstalks and pumpkins will be distributed along Zoo walkways by next week when Boo begins (get your tickets soon -- Saturday, October 17, is already sold out). We'll also set some pumpkins and hay bales at the Zoo entrance for a great seasonal photo opportunity when you get here.

The Exhiibit Hall in the Administration Building is also being decked out with some great window painting by our awesome volunteers.  (Make sure you stop in to check out the GEICO Gecko exhiibit while you're checking out the paintings.)

Here are some photos of the seasonal decorating taking place now...
