Solomon Islands skink (prehensile-tailed skink)

Alexandra B. from Cleveland captured the Zoo's 20-year-old Solomon Islands skink. The skink is one of only five animals living in The RainForest since opening day in 1992. The other long-time residents include a scarlet macaw and three roseate spoonbills

It's not too late to take your best shot and enter the Zoo's Photo Safari contest. Entry forms are available online, at the Zoo, and at all participating Discount Drug Mart locations.

Prizes include a Zoo family membership, an 18-hole round of golf at any Cleveland Metroparks golf course, Discount Drug Mart gift cards and more. The grand prize winner will be announced in November and will win a behind-the-scenes Zoo tour, an Adopt an Animal package courtesy of the Cleveland Zoological Society and a Kodak easyshare camera.

What are you waiting for? Visit Cleveland Metroparks Zoo soon and take your best shot.

Photo Safari is sponsored by Discount Drug Mart and First Merit Foundation.

For what it's worth, I love that "five animal" factoid!
