Diane B. from North Royalton, OH captured this beautiful photo of Colliet, 14, the Zoo's resident senior koala. Colliet shares her Australian Adventure exhibit with two female and two male koalas.

Colliet was born at the San Diego Zoo and arrived in Cleveland in 1999. She has produced eight joeys throughout her lifetime.

Did you know . . . koalas are one of only a few animals that have fingerprints? This photo clearly shows the koala's three fingers -- what you can't see are the koala's two thumbs! Who knew?

Did you know . . . the koala's sole source of nutrition comes from fresh eucalyptus leaves? That's it!

Did you know . . . a female koala's nose is smaller than its male counterpart's? And, Colliet's nose is lighter in color than her younger exhibit-mates. The loss of black pigment comes with age.
