Video: Zoo Vet Staff Fosters 'Foster'

You read about him -- now see the video. Parma wallaby joey, "Foster," is being hand-raised by Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's veterinary staff. In our exclusive footage, Veterinary Technician Sheena Koeth shows us how she handles Foster's daily feeding and care.

Meet Foster, he's an eight-month-old Parma wallaby joey being hand-raised by Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's veterinary care staff at the Sarah Allison Steffee Center for Zoological Medicine. Vet Technicians became foster parents to the young wallaby in October when Foster's mother was no longer able to care for him. He is in good health and developing at a steady pace, weighing just about a pound and standing less than half a foot tall. As part of his care, he stays in a specially heated hospital room, receives food imported from Australia and has access to a warm, furry papoose that serves as an artificial pouch (read the news release).

Check out our exclusive video of how Vet Technician Sheena Koeth takes daily care of Foster -- also available in Windows Media and Quicktime formats.
